Landscape Consulting – Landscape Design and Ideas – Landscape Quotes
Landscape consultations are about guiding you with design ideas, product selections, and landscape solutions unique to your requirements. Our process is designed to align your landscape dreams with your project budget while creating a sustainable, low-maintenance outdoor space that reflects your lifestyle and adds lasting value to your property.
A standard landscape consultation includes up to two hours onsite, allowing us to understand your requirements and aspirations. During this time, we assess your site, identify potential challenges, explore design and material options, discuss durability, and align recommendations with your project budget.
At Instant Greenscene, we customise our landscape solutions to suit your individual needs and can advise on all aspects of landscaping. This includes structural elements such as retaining walls, decks, and paving, as well as soft landscaping like garden design and turf or lawn selection. We also cater to essential sub-surface systems, including landscape drainage, automated irrigation, and outdoor lighting — ensuring your landscape performs beautifully above and below ground.

Onsite Landscape Consultations – information and pricing
Standard landscape consultations include up to 2 hours onsite – $495* inc. GST (Mon–Fri) and $550* incl. GST (Saturdays & public holidays). For additional hours, the rate is $250* per hour.
(*Rates apply to new bookings made after 19th November 2025, bookings made prior to this date are $440 weekdays / $495 Saturdays, additional hours if required are $220)
Standard onsite consultation are ideal for residential landscaping inquiries involving multiple elements. Standard consultations generally allow sufficient time to discuss an overview of your project, with the option to extend the session for more complex or larger projects. In most cases, we provide a preliminary pricing estimate during the consultation, enabling immediate discussions on potential budget variations.
For smaller projects focused on a single element, we offer a 45-minute consultation onsite for $295 incl. GST.
These shorter consultations are perfect for projects with a limited scope, offering a cost-effective and efficient solution.
(Standard 2 hour consultations are required for projects with multiple elements. Landscape drainage site consultations also require our 2 hour standard consultation).

Project Pricing & Formal Quotations
Our consultations are designed to help align your project budget with your desired scope of works. While we strive to provide indicative pricing for all projects – whether as complete builds or individual elements – it’s not possible to offer formal quotations for every concept or idea discussed.
To ensure fair use of everyone’s time—our clients, our team, and our suppliers—formal pricing is reserved for projects where clients are satisfied with the proposed scope of works / indicative budget and are ready to proceed to contract within 14 days (due to supply price variations).
For all other discussions, we’ll provide on-the-spot indicative pricing wherever possible. This allows us to efficiently explore various design options and make the most of your consultation time.
Once you’ve had time to review the proposed project elements and budget, you can schedule a follow-up consultation to refine details and proceed to formal pricing.
If you’re happy with the design direction / indicative budget and are firm on your preferred material selections, we can often move to formal pricing during the same consultation. Please note that refining layouts or confirming specific material choices may require additional consultation time. If this cannot be completed on the day, a subsequent appointment will be arranged to finalise your formal quotation.
Formal pricing is provided as a written quote outlining the full scope of work, with a single total price that includes all materials, labor and equipment to complete your project. To assist in visualizing the proposed work, we provide sample images of relevant products, materials, or similar projects, along with detailed product information and specifications where applicable.

Optional Landscape Concept Plan
To assist in visualizing the proposed work, we provide sample images of relevant products, materials, or similar projects, along with detailed product information and specifications where applicable. For clients who find it difficult to picture the proposed designs, we also offer the option of a hand-drawn concept plan. This, combined with the included images and information, can greatly enhance your understanding of the project.
Please note, hand-drawn concept plans are not part of our standard site consultation and are available at $220 per hour. A fixed-price quote for the concept drawing can be provided during your initial consultation.

We value your investment in landscaping and take the time to understand your needs in detail. Each site consultation is thorough and collaborative, allowing plenty of opportunity to explore and discuss tailored design and construction options.
If you choose to proceed with construction, you can have peace of mind knowing that all projects are built in-house, not subcontracted. You’ll be working with the same dedicated team from consultation through to construction, ensuring continuity and a seamless experience.
Landscape consulting can assist in the following areas:
- Landscape design, ideas, material selections and layout
- Paving– product selection, sub surface requirements including drainage
- Retaining walls– retaining wall construction, durable material selections and drainage requirements
- Landscape drainage– surface and sub surface drainage, including retaining wall drainage
- Garden design– plant selection- low maintenance, colour foliage, feature planting and privacy screening
- Landscape materials- material selections, product durability
- Irrigation and sprinkler systems– automated lawn and garden sprinkler systems utilizing both mains and tank water supply

- Landscape lighting– automated garden lighting, highlighting focal points, entrances, paths and features
- Decking– low level decking for pool surrounds, alfresco areas and landscape features
