Landscapers Instant Greenscene, a local family owned business, take your investment in landscaping seriously. Before we make the earth move, our process begins with an onsite landscape consultation. This landscaping consultation will be carried out by a QBCC licenced, fully qualified structural landscaper and irrigation plumber with over 25 years landscaping experience.

As a result of our detailed onsite consultation and offsite time compiling pricing, photo files and project information averaging 6-8 hours, we therefore are unable to offer a free quotation service. We do, however, offer a range of consultation options to suit your landscape requirements, with our consultation fee deducted from the cost of landscape works. We are more than happy to discuss your landscaping requirements by phone prior to the consultation.

Landscape Consulting – Landscape Design and Ideas – Landscape Quotes

Landscape consultations are about guiding you with design ideas, product selections and landscape solutions unique to your requirements. Our process is designed to result in sustainable, low maintenance landscapes that will suit your families lifestyle and add value to your property.

Standard landscape consultation allow 2 hours onsite to understand your requirements and aspirations. We evaluate your site, highlight any areas of concern, discuss design and material selection, detail durability and expected service life of product selections.

At Instant Greenscene, we customise our Landscape solutions to your requirements and can advise on most facets of landscaping. These may include structural landscape elements like retaining walls, decks and paving. We also offer a full selection of soft landscapes like garden design and turf | lawn selections. We also cater for the all important sub surface side of your landscape like landscape drainage, automated irrigation and landscape lighting.

Landscaping Consultation Fees

1)  Landscape consultation – Standard 2 hours 

General Landscape and Landscape Drainage Consultations – includes up to 2 hours – $440 inc. GST Mon-FRI, $495 inc. GST Saturdays (additional hours at $220p/h) *Revised pricing effective 1st November 2024- weekday appointments $495, Saturday appointments $550, additional hours at $250 p/h. Prices include GST

Our general landscape consultation is suitable for general residential landscape enquiries. It is suitable to discuss multiple elements and allows 2 hours onsite (additional time may be required for more complex or larger projects). In most cases, we will provide a pricing indication during the onsite consultation. This allows discussions around variations / budget to be undertaken if required.

Once you are satisfied with discussed scope of works and price indications, you may choose to proceed to formal pricing. This will be in the form of a written quote outlining proposed works with a single total price for the complete project, fully inclusive of all materials, labour, equipment and waste charges. To assist you in visualizing the proposed works we also include sample images of any relevant products, materials or similar projects as well as relevant product information and specification sheets. Additional time (if required) beyond 2 hours is charges at $220 per hour

2) Landscaping Consultation – Single Items

Single Item Consultation – $295 inc. GST Mon-FRI only (Excludes drainage and irrigation requirements – minimum 2 hour standard consultation required.)

This consultation is suitable for single item landscape enquiries and allows 45mins onsite. Single items include individual landscaping elements only, such as retaining walls, paving areas or decking. In most cases, we will provide a pricing indication during the onsite consultation. This allows discussions around variations / budget to be undertaken if required.

Once you are satisfied with discussed scope of works and price indications, you may choose to proceed to formal pricing. This will be in the form of a written quote outlining proposed works with a single total price for the complete project, fully inclusive of all materials, labour, equipment and waste charges. To assist you in visualizing the proposed works we also include sample images of any relevant products, materials or similar projects as well as relevant product information and specification sheets. Additional time (if required) beyond 45 minutes is charged at $220 per hour

Optional Landscape Concept Plan

In addition to our site consultations outlined above, optional landscape concept plans are also available.  These hand drawn concept plans are charged at $220 p/h and may further assist you visualizing our proposed works. A fixed price for these can be quoted during our onsite consultation.

Landscape Consultations | Landscape Quoting – Consultation inclusions

Our landscape consultations are carried out by a QBCC licensed, fully qualified structural landscaper and irrigation plumber with more than 25 years experience. Our process is designed to be thorough and allows sufficient time to cover most general landscape enquiries. However, we offer to extend our landscape consultation at an hourly rate where the site has more complex or multiple elements that may require additional time. Additional time is charged at $220 per hour but may need to be scheduled at a later date and time due to onsite commitments.

Once you are satisfied with both the proposed design and pricing indications, you may choose to proceed to formal pricing. This will be in the form of a written quote outlining the proposed works with a single total price for the complete project, fully inclusive of all materials, labour equipment, waste charges and associated costs. To assist you in visualizing the proposed works, where possible, we will also include sample images of any relevant products, materials or similar projects as well as relevant product information and specification sheets.. For soft landscapes we will include images of plant species, and technical data sheets for selected turf species so you can best understand our selection recommendations.

Our in depth site consultations allows you to make informed decisions regarding your landscape investment while product images and work samples both demonstrate our workmanship and will assist you in visualizing our landscape proposal.

Carefully planned and executed landscape projects have great returns on your investment. It is also known, poorly executed DIY projects often detract from property value. All projects at Instant Greenscene commence with an onsite consultation. This allows us to fully understand your requirements and ensures we have the time to discuss in detail the investment in your new landscape.

How much does landscaping cost? a realistic approach to professional landscaping

5 – 15 % of the total property value is generally a good indication of realistic landscaping costs.  These are simply guidelines and will vary from project to project.

  • 5% consists of soft landscaping such as turf and garden beds, incorporating horticulturally based design with minimum earth works.
  • 10% allows the introduction of limited structural works along with soft landscaping elements. Structural elements may include items like retaining, paving, decking, drainage systems, landscape light and irrigation.
  • 15% is generally higher volumes of structural elements with soft landscaping works, larger blocks and / or projects which require significant earthworks.

Our landscape projects commonly range between $30,000 – to $150,000 depending on the size and individual project requirements.

Will my new landscape add value to my property?

Well planned landscapes will add to property value. Our experience shows your biggest return on investments in landscapes to be in two areas, these are ‘Street appeal’ and ‘Entertainment spaces’. These areas will generally dictate your large spend of your landscape budget but will also generally achieve the greatest return.

  • Landscape design, ideas, material selections and layout
  • Paving– product selection, sub surface requirements including drainage
  • Retaining walls– retaining wall construction, durable material selections and drainage requirements
  • Landscape drainage– surface and sub surface drainage, including retaining wall drainage
  • Garden design– plant selection- low maintenance, colour foliage, feature planting and privacy screening
  • Landscape materials- material selections, product durability
  • Irrigation and sprinkler systems– automated lawn and garden sprinkler systems utilizing both mains and tank water supply
  • Privacy screens, fences, gates and structures– design, material section and durability
  • Landscape lighting– automated garden lighting, highlighting focal points, entrances, paths and features
  • Decking– low level decking for pool surrounds, alfresco areas and landscape features
  • Structure position- positioning of structures including houses, driveways, sheds and swimming pools. We will consider how this may potentially effect things like access, drainage and site works
